Israel's Assassination Attempt on US Ambassador

Had Mossad, Israel’s secret intelligence organization, succeeded, it would have been the perfect crime—the crime of the century. The plan was breathtaking in concept: to assassinate the American ambassador to Lebanon, in Lebanon, with American weapons, intended for Israeli’s defense only. Everything about it would point to Lebanon as the culprit.
But fate intervened, and things went wrong. The tires on Ambassador John Gunther Dean’s limousine automatically reinflated when they were shot out in 1979 (see November 2002 Washington Report, p. 15). The light tank shell simply bounced off the car’s armor. And, horror of horrors, Lebanese intelligence had retrieved the empty shell casing on which was written, “Made in the United States of America.”
If anyone has more information to confirm or dispute this I would be interested in seeing it.

Unfortunatly, Israel's history includes the Levon affair, which has a similar tenor to this accusation.
So, these claims can be taken far more seriously than the might otherwise.
Israel has a long history of less than above board acts becuase, to them, everything is a "matter of survival." These acts include killing the wrong person in an attempt to revenge terrorist acts and fraudulently obtaining foreign passports.
Finally, why do you equate Jews with Israel? I certainly don't. Are you suggested that we should?
Israel is a nation, and so acts in what it perceives to be its best interests. Those interests do not necessarily coincide with those of the US. Some of those interests may be completely antithetical to those of the US. Like the US, Israel has also pulled some really bone headed mistakes in their foreign intelligence actions. Of course, we will never know what their percentage of success is.
The attempted assassination of Ambassador Gunther is well documented. The serial number of the unexploded shell was traced to a US shipment to Israel, as was that of a weapon recovered at the scene.
Such false flag behavior is not unusual behavior for Israel, or other states for that matter. The Lavon affair is a perfect example of this behavior. What is curious, is that this year, on the 50th Anniversary of this fiasco, Israel chose to publicly honor the perps (mostly posthumous) with promotions and medals. This was documented in the Jerusalem Post, Ha'aretz and other Israeli papers.
A few of other proved examples are the USS Liberty massacre, and Israel bartering US defense secrets (via Pollard) with the then USSR, in exchange for increased emigration quotas for Soviet Jewry.
Israel also acts against the interests of other putative allies. Israel has been quite fond of obtaining passports from Canada, Australia and New Zealand for their intelligence agents. This has led to strained relations with these nations, and almost a complete rupture with NZ.
A major issue for the US is that these episodes generally do not make US news, or are kept so low key that few hear of them. In Israel, which seems to have more freedom of the press than the US has, such occurrences are usually major news items.

I'm sure you have "evidence" that Israel murdered JFK, attacked America in 911 and even brought the Hurricanes over America. Only Jews can do such brilliant tasks. I'm just waiting to see your "wise and unique" reports on that.
